NOTTAWASAGA MODEL RAILWAY
SOUTHERN GEORGIAN BAY
Welcome
Welcome to the Nottawasaga Model Railway. We hope this web site encourages you and your family to take a closer look at the wonderful world of model railways and perhaps build one of your own. It's a hobby that will get you involved in carpentry, basic low voltage electrical circuitry, electronics, art (for scenery) and model making. But most importantly, it will encourage thought, imagination and innovation.
If nothing else, we certainly hope you'll come to see our and other layouts at the shows we attend. Bring the kids ; we're one of the few model railways you'll come across where they're invited to run the trains.
Learn about our annual auction on the Auction page. You may have some old model railway equipment stored in your basement or attic that is dong nothing but gather dust. You can either sell it at our auction, held on the first Saturday in May, or perhaps you'd like to donate it to the Nottawasaga Model Railway and let us find a good home for it.
Our home is at Bygone Days Heritage Village, Collingwood, ON, a rich example of our Canadian heritage, with 30 buildings dating from the mid-1800's. It has an extensive collection of buggies, cutters and wagons along with 3 steam engines, a steam locomotive, 24 antique tractors and many other farm implements. Work is on-going to renovate more implements and they will be displayed when ready.
